Silukhuni Legacy Distributors is a retail business with the main focus of whole selling of frozen and dry food products to the local businesses and public. Whole selling of soft drinks has been added to the operation and is proving to be a success. Whole selling of liquor products is also in the pipeline.

Situation Analysis

The business venture is intended to bridge the gap between the formal and informal business sector, with the view to serve the privilege and less privilege businesses and individuals in all sectors of our communities. That is taking business to the people and add value to our communities in many ways.

Production processes and capacity

Currently our facilities are geared to sell already processed and packaged products. The products are sourced direct from manufacturers (the likes of Astral foods operations, Brenner milling, Progress Milling, Shanduka Beverages, ABI, Goldrich Millers, etc.). Holding capacity is a challenge in some sites and hence the need to expand it to accommodate bigger volumes of stock. This will also reduce the running cost on delivery vehicles which make frequent trips to and from the suppliers. Capacity is a major constraint and has direct impact on sales productivity, re- timely delivery to customers, etc. The facilities also have limited operational tools and are in need of additional delivery vehicles and forklifts to unload delivery trucks from various suppliers.
